The shared office areas at Sky Studios Elstree
were feeling bare, cold and devoid of interest.
Connected with the stages, these spaces were
used and shared by whole production teams.
To add the brand’s personality into the shared
areas in a way that connected with the people
who utilised those spaces.
Small exhibitions that told little known production
stories of four of the biggest known NBCU films.
Choosing iconic films that resonated with most,
we aimed to celebrate and show appreciation for
film production. Research was the key to success.
With an original Jurassic Jeep we created an
outdoor jungle installation, refurbishing it to
allow people in and keep water and pests out.
Inside, we paired lift doors with recognisable
gate or door scenes teasing people to step
inside the film. The walls told the curious tales
of Jurassic Park’s production, illustrated with
behind-the-scenes photography.

Paying homage, we recreated the famous flying
bike scene on the side of a 50ft workshop building,
complete with sculpted E.T. in a Kuwahara BMX.
We unearthed the tales of how E.T. was created
from looks, to movement, to voice and the unique
filming process that aimed to get authentic
performances from the child actors.
Jaws celebrated on the side of Elstree’s multi-
storey car park. Films, two old and two new,
wrap the four car park sides.
Jaws is full of tales, from non-existing
scripts to sinking sharks, we weaved those
stories across all floors of the office.

We styled the lift to look like a time travelling machine,
with cues taken from the famous DeLorean. The film’s
special effects, or surprising lack of, were heroed on
one floor, whilst the surprising changes to the plot and
characters were revealed on another.
To bookend our mini-exhibitions we designed a
timeline of film posters from the NBCU catalogue.
Starting on the ground floor in the 1910’s, time
progressed as people progressed up the staircase.
Covering 3 floors, on 2 sides of the building, we
displayed 120 posters that visually hinted at films
evolution throughout the decades.
